Women’s World Day of Prayer

Womens world day of prayerYesterday was Women’s World Day of Prayer. This is an annual event which is held on the first Friday in March at 7 pm. In Sharnford, the Methodist Church and St. Helen’s Church always join together to organise and celebrate this event. Members of All Saints Church, Sapcote were invited to join the meeting.

The theme was Let Justice Prevail and was written by Women in Malayasia. Jill Matthews (member of All Saints Church, Sapcote Local Ministry Team) let the meeting and Barbara Bircumshaw (Minister from Hinckley Methodist Circuit which includes Sharnford Chapel and Sapcote Methodist church) gave a talk on the theme of Let Justice Prevail. Readings were from Habakkuk 1 v2-5, 3v2 and 3v17-19 and Luke 18 v1-18.

In 2013 the event will be held in Sharnford Methodist Chapel, Chapel Lane on Friday 1st March. The theme, from the women of France, will be I was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me. You will be very welcome to join us next year!
