Prayer afternoon

Posted by Jill

Yesterday we met together for a prayer afternoon. As always, people were encouraged to come for a while and stay as long as they were able to. We started with a time of praise and then focussed our prayers on verse 37 from Matthew 22 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.

We spent time praying around Psalm 103 –

Praise the LORD, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

We felt that God was telling us to be the best we can for Him in all we do.

The second session focussed on Matthew 22 verse 39 Love your neighbour as yourself. We prayed about forthcoming events in Leicester and Sapcote, including the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics.
